Kotaki Kōdo (Shikumi Kaidō)History and culture

This ancient path is today maintained from Sakae Village/Kotaki Village to Shikumi Village. This is a road that has been used since the Middle Ages, and was part of the Zenkoji Kaidō, a trail used by pilgrims traveling from Echigo (Niigata) to visit Zenkoji Temple in Nagano.
