Komatsubara Shitsugen wetlandNature

The wetland is full of watasugi (Eriophorum vaginatum, hare’s-tail cottongrass) flowers and ponds. The boardwalk is well maintained, and an emergency shelter is available here. The route from the summit of Mt. Naeba to Mikura through Komatsubara Shitsugen is an enjoyable alternative route to the Shin-etsu Trail.
