Certificate of Achievement

Aiming at hiking the entire Shin-etsu Trail? Get a certificate of your accomplishment!

信越トレイル全線踏破証

If you’ve hiked the entire length of the Shin-etsu Trail, we will provide a hike-through Certificate of Achievement so you can show official proof of your accomplishment.

Simply fill in the necessary information on your trekking record form, submit by post or use the application form available below or by fax,, and receive your certificate later by post. The certificate can also be issued on the same day at:

• Shinetsu Shizenkyo Activity Center
• Nabekura Kogen Mori no Ie
• Snow Country Tourism Building, Echigo-Yuzawa Onsen

Procedure for receiving a Certificate of Achievement

01Fill in the information on the application form or trekking record form

After finishing hiking the entire Trail, fill in the information on when you hiked on the application form at the bottom of this page, or download the trekking record form from the link below.

02Send the completed application form or trekking record form

After filling in all the required information, send the application form or trekking record form to the Shin-etsu Trail Club Secretariat by post or fax.

03Pay the fee for the Certificate of Achievement

The fee for a Certificate of Achievement is ¥1,000.
Internet payment can be made through the Shin-etsu Trail Store, by credit card, convenience store payment or bank transfer.

Payment also can be made by registered mail or postal transfer. If you pay by any of those methods, please remit 1,300 yen (as fee for a Certificate of Achievement plus shipping costs).

04Certificate will be shipped once payment is confirmed

Once payment is received, the Shin-etsu Trail Club will issue the Certificate of Achievement and ship it to you.

Please note that we will announce the names, hiking number and prefecture/country of those receiving a Certificate of Achievement.

Only those who have received Certificates of Achievement can purchase these items. When you are completing the procedures for the certificate, let us know if you would like one of the souvenirs. Please pay the cost of the badge or patch at the same time you pay the fee for the certificate. The badge or patch will be sent to you along with the Certificate of Achievement. Only one souvenir per person.

The Shin-etsu Trail Club has created the following privacy protection policy, including the recognition of the importance of protecting personal information, and establishing methods to protect personal information.

  1. Management of personal information
    The Shin-etsu Trail Club will make every effort to keep our users’ personal information accurate and up to date, including implementing methods to prevent the unauthorized access, loss, damage, falsification, leakage, etc. of that personal information, and will take the necessary measures to strictly manage personal information, such as the maintenance of information security and management systems, thorough employee education, and other measures.
  2. Use of personal information
    The personal information that is entrusted to us by our website guests will be used to contact and provide guidance to them, to send email messages and answer user questions.
  3. Prohibitions on release of personal information to third parties
    The Shin-etsu Trail Club will properly manage the personal information entrusted to us; we will never disclose personal information to third parties accept when one of the following is true:

    • When we receive the consent of the user;

    • When the information is disclosed to contractors in order to provide services requested by the user;

    • When disclosure is necessary in order to comply with laws and regulations.

    The Shin-etsu Trail Club takes all possible security measures to ensure both the accuracy and the safety of personal information.

    Any user who wishes to inquire about, correct or delete their personal information will be allowed to do so once confirmation has been made that the user is indeed the person making the request.

    The Shin-etsu Trail Club will comply with all Japanese laws and regulations in regard to our privacy policy, review the contents of this policy as appropriate, and work to continuously improve it.
